About Gossip Buzz
The problem
Messaging apps and social apps are different products, so most people carry both — and the conversation about a post lives in a different app from the post.
What Gossip does about it
One app, two halves. Private end-to-end encrypted messaging on one side, a public feed of buzzes, moments and circles on the other, with the same identity across both and a wall between what is private and what is not.
How it works
Messages are encrypted on your device before they are sent and the server stores only ciphertext. Contact discovery never sends a phone number — only salted hashes, with the salt rotating daily. A profile is a separate identity from your phone book: somebody you chat with publicly does not learn the name you saved them under.
What it will not do
It does not sell what you post. Coins are bought and spent inside the app and are never earned from voting, and points cannot be bought at all — the line between a game and a gambling product is one the design keeps on purpose.
